Black bear population existed at one time in 49 states and Canada; today baby photos in the wild are limited to Canada and 27 states. Today this number is higher in spite of hunting and habitat destruction and ranges between 630,000 and 720,000 individuals. In all states hunting is possible only under the license, and in some states all kinds of hunting and body parts trade are illegal. These animals can be found in all provinces of Canada and in 27 US states. Historically they lived in 49 states, but now they are extinct on Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, and others.
